It helps, if you're going to read this blog, to become familiar with Lisa's book Shape Shifting--reclaiming your perfect body but it's not necessary. It's also helpful if you're familiar with metaphysics and/or the writings of Neale Donald Walsch, Abraham-Hicks, Wayne Dyer, Carolyn Myss, Louise Hay, etc. Or, perhaps you've just seen the movie The Secret and wonder what this Law of Attraction stuff is all about!

Can you believe that, even after all the good deeds Oprah Winfrey has done over the years, good deeds that should by rights allow her to feel at peace with herself, she still suffers from self-esteem issues because of society-imposed expectations about her weight?
Read the recent news story here, wherein Oprah discusses being embarrassed and angry with herself for, in essence, suffering from the same sort of health and life issues that we all feel embarrassed and angry with ourselves about. She also adds that she "... hit rock bottom when she wanted to skip out on an April 26 taping with Cher and Tina Turner in Las Vegas. 'I felt like a fat cow,' Winfrey writes. 'I wanted to disappear.'"
This beautiful, powerful and altruistic woman feels worthless, simply because she doesn't fit into the prescribed, sometimes-impossible body shape that women are expected to conform to, even if it goes against their genetics or optimum health. When will our "best" ever be good enough?
And, even though Oprah is familiar with The Secret and the "Law of Attraction," and is a big admirer of Eckhart Tolle'sThe Power of Now, she doesn't understand that feeling bad about our bodies only makes it harder to lose the right amount of weight to bring us to our healthiest balance.
THINK ABOUT THIS: if even Oprah, with all of her accomplishments, can't feel good about herself, how will ANY of us achieve peace with our bodies? How much good do we have to do before we can stop kicking ourselves over something so unnecessarily painful? How can we feel attractive, empowered and sexy, losing enough to be healthy but not overshooting into a danger zone?
If you are tired of feeling coerced into looking like something you're not, if you are fed up with women being made to feel like lesser beings if they don't look like a centerfold, if it makes you angry that even one of the most powerful women in the world still succumbs to this lie, then tell Oprah about the groundbreaking book, Shape Shifting--reclaiming YOUR perfect body.

"Dear Oprah Show,
I think it's a travesty that someone as giving as Oprah still feels like she's not good enough, because of her weight, after all the good she's done for the world. If even Oprah can't feel good about herself, what chance do the rest of us have? I've recently become aware of an amazing book that talks about weight loss and self-esteem issues from a body/mind/spirit perspective. Given Oprah's interest in new thought concepts like The Secret and Eckhart Tolle's work, I think she would absolutely love Shape Shifting--reclaiming YOUR perfect body. Please bring this book to Oprah's attention so she can help spread its female-friendly message to all the woman and girls who really need to hear about it. You can find out more about the book at www.shapeshiftingonline.com"
